Istanbul-Day 1

We woke at about 6:30 am on Monday and it is now 1:45am on Wednesday in Sydney. Needless to say it has been a long trip. Flights were good but sleeping for more than about 20 mins was difficult.

Regardless, we have soldiered on and managed to wander around Istanbul after settling in to our apartment in Sultanahmet, which is just  around the corner from the Blue Mosque.

Unexpected: the number of guys wanting to sell you something- tour books, carpets, jewellery. They are so friendly wanting you to go to their shop. Hard to ignore ( but I didn't but today).

An interesting day planned tomorrow where go on The Other Tour to see the "real" Istanbul.
