Insight Tour Day 1

We checked out of our apartment this morning and headed off to a Turkish Rug wholesaler recommended by our host. We were tagging along with Anne and David who were in the market for a rug. We had no intention of buying a rug - no intention whatsoever.

We bought a rug!!

The prices were amazing (half what the others were offering). I know we may sound gullible here but it was NOT a shop. These were associates of the owner of our unit and they come with amazing credentials. Anne and David bought an "old" rug which is a good thing to do. We bought a new rug but in about 70 years it will be worth about $25 000. It is very finely knotted which is why it is an investment piece.

Off to the Grand Bazaar next - toooooo big. Did not feel the urge to buy here but a great atmosphere.

We arrived at our new hotel late afternoon to begin our Insight Tour. A few drinks then off to the tour meeting for light refreshments. A few more drinks then off to bed for the first of our week of early starts.
